The walnut box lid has an oval of lacewood surrounded by a maple line and the top is edged in East Indian rosewood. Inside the lid there is a
diamond of kewizinga outlined with walnut and the bottom has a rectangle of cherry and walnut stringing. The removable half tray is made from walnut with velvet cushion. Quadrant hinges are used to hold the lid open.
